Mark Connick, PhD

Welcome. I hold undergraduate qualifications in Computer Science and Applied Sport Science, together with a PhD in Biomechanics and Physiology from the University of Birmingham (UK). My work combines analytical thinking, data science and applied research to develop practical solutions that improve decision-making across government, industry, health and sport.

I specialise in the development of analytical frameworks, data integration methods, statistical modelling and decision-support tools for complex real-world problems. My work spans data analytics, biomechanics, physiology, wearable technologies, cloud-based platforms and software development, with a focus on translating complex information into practical insights that support policy, planning and operational decision-making.

Throughout my career I have worked collaboratively with universities, government agencies, industry partners and community organisations to deliver projects with practical impact. These have ranged from statewide data frameworks and cloud-based analytics platforms to evidence-based systems adopted by international sporting organisations. While many of these projects have been undertaken within sport and health, the analytical approaches underpinning them are broadly applicable across sectors where data informs strategic decisions.

I currently work across research, consulting and technology development, including collaborative projects with government, industry and community partners. My interests centre on developing innovative analytical solutions, building productive partnerships, and translating research and data into practical applications that create measurable value.

I am based in Brisbane, Australia. Please feel free to explore the site, learn more about my projects, or get in touch if you would like to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
